Whenever possible I love to come up with a snack that goes with the topic we are studying. We love food in our house! 🙂
This week we studied the parts of the sun, so here’s my idea for a snack. I used ham for the bottom and top layers (convective zone & photosphere), provolone cheese for the middle zone (radiative zone) and cheddar cheese for the core. The chromosphere is made out of ketchup and the corona with mustard.
Here’s the video explaining how we did it. It was hard to record with one hand and put the snack together with the other hand, but you can get the idea 🙂
I also wanted to share a website that offers a great resource for free! They are offering a family guide to learn about the sun. It is a PDF file which you download on their site. It has information about the sun, activities to do with your family, word puzzles, mazes, coloring sheets, etc. It is a great find! Go check it out and let me know what you think. 🙂
