Hi!
My Name is Grismar. I am a mom, with a wonderful husband, and 2 precious kiddos!
This fall we started our 7th year of homeschooling, but I find myself learning new things each year. I can say that I truly love that I have the option to have our kids around all day, and that we can be the primary influence in their lives!
I never thought I would homeschool. You see, I was a public school teacher for 12 years. I love teaching; teaching is my passion; so after I had kids my plan was to stay home with them until they reached school age, and then I would go back to teach.
But God had different plans for our family. He brought homeschooling to my attention a year before my son would start Kindergarten. It was a year ahead, because He knew how stubborn I would be. I tried to ignore His leading, I tried to push it aside, but He kept bringing it up little by little. I would meet homeschooling moms everywhere, I would hear about homeschooling in the most odd places, so after a year of trying to avoid it I decided to follow His lead and try it out.
I am so glad I followed Him! His ways are higher and better than my ways! I absolutely love it. It is just a joy to teach my own kids, use the same materials, ideas, games, and tricks I used in the classroom. Now, don’t get me wrong, we have hard days, challenging days where it is not so fun, but all in all it is a blessing to my heart and my family!
I love to make learning a fun experience for my kids. Learning does not have to be boring and tedious. I want them to like school, learning and studying. That’s my motivation to come up with ideas to make school fun! I enjoy creating materials, visual aids, games and manipulatives we can use to help us learn our content.
I wanted to start this blog as a way to share my ideas and materials with other homeschool families out there. I know it can be hard sometimes and we can get discouraged and not have any ideas or creativity flowing out of our heads when we have to wear so many hats. I hope this blog can be useful and encouraging to your family.
